On Monday, October 13, 2014, several sites like Ars Technica and VentureBeat reported that hackers claim to have stolen 7 million Dropbox passwords. Posts on Reddit suggested that some of the published passwords had already been used to login to unsuspecting Dropbox accounts.
I turns out that this may have been a bad joke. Now stories are circulating that the whole thing was a hoax.
