THIS IS A FULL-TIME IN-OFFICE POSITION. NO REMOTE WORK.

What You Will Be Responsible For

As an Account Manager, you will:

  • Build strong relationships with business owners, executives and other key customer contacts.
  • Understand each customer’s business priorities, risks, decision process and budget.
  • Develop client strategies that align technology decisions with the direction of the business.
  • Maintain an agreed technology roadmap and forward-looking IT budget for each assigned customer.
  • Prepare for, lead and document monthly account meetings, quarterly business reviews and annual strategy meetings.
  • Turn technology assessment findings, service trends, security risks, lifecycle needs and business priorities into clear recommendations.
  • Help customers understand the business impact of technology decisions without overwhelming them with unnecessary technical detail.
  • Prioritize recommendations based on risk, business value, urgency and budget.
  • Coordinate with our Technology Alignment, Service, Solution Architecture and Professional Services teams.
  • Present recommendations, budgetary estimates, quotes and proposals.
  • Obtain customer decisions and approval for recommended projects and technology investments.
  • Proactively manage renewals, relationship concerns, customer dissatisfaction and retention risks.
  • Maintain accurate meeting notes, decisions, action items, roadmaps, budgets, opportunities and follow-up dates.
  • Make sure commitments made to customers have a clear owner and receive proper follow-through.
  • Identify appropriate opportunities to improve the customer’s environment, expand services and complete roadmap initiatives.
  • Ask satisfied customers for referrals when appropriate.

The Account Manager owns the relationship and business conversation. Our technical teams perform assessments, develop detailed designs, scope projects and complete the technical work.

Who We Are Looking For

We are looking for someone who is confident, organized, curious, accountable and comfortable working with business owners and executives.

You may be a good fit if you:

  • Communicate clearly and professionally in person, by phone, over video and in writing.
  • Build trust while still being willing to have direct and sometimes difficult conversations.
  • Ask good questions and listen before making recommendations.
  • Can understand business goals and connect them to technology priorities.
  • Are comfortable discussing budgets, risks, timelines and tradeoffs.
  • Can present recommendations and directly ask customers to make decisions.
  • Manage multiple relationships, meetings, deadlines and action items without losing track of the details.
  • Take ownership when something goes wrong instead of blaming another department.
  • Work well across departments and follow through until commitments are completed.
  • Follow defined processes while also looking for ways to improve them.
  • Are willing to learn about managed IT, cybersecurity, cloud services, business continuity and technology lifecycle planning.
  • Enjoy developing existing customer relationships and identifying opportunities to provide additional value.

Experience in account management, customer success, consulting, managed IT services or executive relationship management is preferred.

Deep engineering experience is not required. You do need to be comfortable learning technology concepts and communicating them in business terms.

You will be expected to follow our Account Management process, maintain accurate information, participate in the company’s meeting rhythms, solve issues directly and be accountable for measurable results.
